elements that can save unique user input for the user

We're looking for a method to allow a user to enter data in fields within an article. this data would be unique to each user and accessible only to this user. Examples would be a "Mark as read" checkbox and personal notes for a piece of content. Do any elements do this out of the box? thanks.

Add a "user" element storing the user's ID.
If multiple users should "mark" the same article you need an additional DB table/Fabrik list to create a 1:n realation, something like
table user_infos
columns
id, db_join_to_article, userid, mark_as_read, user_notes

Then add a list prefilter to show only the user's records
