Filter block not displaying

I have a list that I have the filter turned on, the "clear filters" button is there and seems to function, but the block area where the filter form should be displaying, nothing there. not seeing many references to that issue in this forum, any idea what could be happening?

Are you using a core Fabrik list template (bootstrap or div)?
Or a custom one?

It is set to bootstrap. I just tried changing them, still no filters show. I have changed where it is supposed to display, when I change it to "above headings" the table row shows up where it is supposed to be, but not the filters. I am using a Shape 5 Vertex template, all updated. When I inspect the element the DIVs are there, there just isn't any content.

Was this working before and is an issue after an update?

Or is it on a new list?
Did you set any element to be a filter in the element settings?

I am an idiot. I forgot you had to set the element as a filter. It's been a while since I've built with fabrik. hopefully this will help someone else. smh. thanks!
