List weekday as group title in List view

I have a date field in my Database and I group by date. The groups are nicely labeled with each date which is cool but I want the weekday to go with it because that will make working with this list a lot easier.

There is a MySQL command for getting the weekday weekday() is there a way to execute that command while loading the list or something? Or is there any other way to get the weekday in the group title?

I assume the simplest way is to use a date list format displaying the weekday.

Additionally you can use the "Fronend template" in list settings (Data/Group by) to display more informations using placeholders.

Holy shit I'm not sure if I understood what you said correctly but it lead me to the solution anyways. It was so simple! For anyone having the same problem. In the Elements section you choose your date element and then under "Date Formats" you can write for example "D-Y-m-d" which will display the date like this: "Sat-2019-03-30"

An l (lowercase L) will give you the fully spelled out weekday "Saturday"
