put the current date as the default value in the Date field

Hello, I put the Now () function; in the predetermined portion of a date field, but it gives me error.

How do I get the date field take me the current value of the day?

Now() is no php function (should be date(...)).
But you can just enable the option "Default to current date" (in Date Formats tab).
