There is no update button on fresh install

I'm trying to update Fabrik from a 1.5 site to 3.3.

When I try to update fabrik on our new site I follow the steps I have found in various docs I found on the web, but every one has a step where I click an update button under tools in the fabrik backend. I have moved the db tables and all that, but I never get an update button.

How or where would I do this? I don't care if I have to run a file form the command line, but I need some help please. Thank you so much

The Fabrik build-in update is only from Joomla1.5.20+/Fabrik2.1.1 to Joomla2.5.x/Fabrik3.0.

So you have to do it in 2 steps
J!1.5/Fabrik2.1.1 -> J!2.5/Fabrik3.0
