500 error - String could not be parsed as XML while trying to view data list!

Hi!
I've got an urgent problem. Yesterday, I suddenly got this error while trying to view the list data from the backend. I've got a similar error when trying to view the list from the frontend. I can see in phpmyadmin that new records are entered correctly in the database and all other features are perfectly accessible, but I cannot view the data from my list! I checked the connection to the database, I cleaned cache just in case, but nothing so far.. Any suggestions as to what might be wrong? I need this to be fixed as soon as possible! Nothing has changed except for new list records as far as I'm concerned, so, could it be related to a certain record?

Do you have any data with &'s in it, in elements which are being used in any kind of list grouping?

I ran across this last week. If you have an & in any data you try and group a list on, it'll blow up with that error.

I fixed the problem in github, in this commit:

Hi there - we have the same problem at eth front end when group by a field that contains ampersands.

We tried the code change suggested - but it did not fix the problem - is there somewhere else to amend the code for lists from the front end?
