About Joomla search with Fabrik

Hello

I read some posts about the missing simple search in Joomla 4 (only advanced search), so Fabrik lists are not availables in Joomla search.

Are there plans to make Fabrik compatible with advanced search?
Or do you know if simple search will return in Joomla 5+?

I don't believe simple search will return in Joomla 5+, even if Joomla finder itself seems to have problems with access rights for restricted custom fields -> https://github.com/joomla/joomla-cms/issues/42076

I have updated the Wiki with a short instruction how to enable simple search in J4/J5 and hope it works:

The search plug-in extends Joomla's standard search capabilities to enable your users to search through your Fabrik list's data. Note that the access restrictions that you apply to the Fabrik list will also be applied to the search results. The edit plug-in page has the following options...

Hi,

Is there a reason that you recommend version 4.0.1-dev, and not the latest version 4.1.0?
It's on https://github.com/joomla-extensions/search/releases/tag/4.1.0 and as fas as I can see, there is no need to manually create #_core_log_searches or copy access.xml from an old J! 3 as it's all in the package.
And it works well in my case (J4/F4).

The only reason is, that at the time of testing (some months ago) this was the recommended way.
If there is now a newer version without the need to do those manual steps, it would be great!
Probably you can update the Wiki with the new information

Many THX for your comments and wiki updates, I will think about it (but hoping when I will do, Fabrik will manage the advanced search ).
