Blank Screen when installing 2.0b on hosted web site

i am having a blank page too after i clicked "Install Sample Data"
i just found out this component today and it seems to be what i been looking for so i decided to give it a try.

Are you having this problem with 2.0b, or 1.0.5?

First suggestion is to make sure your PHP memory limit is set to 64MB.

max_execution_time

I had the same white screen and tried "reload page". This resulted in the error message "Fatal error: maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in .../mysql.php on line 221".

Problem solved by increasing max_execution_time to 120 seconds in php.ini

..or install from a directory with the files unzipped; I opt for your solution, but the unzipped install will also work without exceeding the maximum execution time, which is nice for those who don't like tweaking .ini files.

I found dropping back to PHP 4 from 5 corrected the issue for me.
