Custom List View in Content Module

I'm having trouble getting a custom list view template to show up in the Fabrik Content Module. It always seems to use the default template. Is there a trick to this? Here is an example of my code:

{fabrik view=list id=28 layout=my_custom_view showfilters=0 fabrik_show_nav=0}

I'm not sure what I did exactly, but it's working now.
