Ok - I tested your fix on my prod environment...and indeed - it does fix it! Not sure why it is mis-behaving on my dev environment...perhaps a mistake on my part.

Is this something that you will commit? Just wondering if I need to keep up with this customization or not?

Well, I kind of need some help testing it. Making any changes to that stuff is risky. The date element is extremely complex when it comes to things like time zones, as there's so many variables involved with the date settings. There must have been some reason I had that test in there, so it's possible that by removing it, this specific use case now works, but whatever I put that in there for will now break.

So ... yes, I will commit it at some point. But not right now. I have the fix in place locally, and will run it for a while longer, see if it causes any other issues. And if you could let me know if you find any problems.
