How to export CSV from empty list?

My client has asked me for a flat file export of a list which has no records in it. When I view the list and choose CSV/Export, the dialog box opens which says "Loading... 0 / records. saving to" but nothing happens. This form has about 165 field elements in it.

I've been waiting about 5 minutes. But since there are no records in it, I assume it should take any time at all, so obviously it isn't going to complete.

Any recommendation on how to fix, or how to export the field name labels, (or something)?

Hmmm, probably some "feature" where it won't actually export with no rows.

My advice would be to export a row, then just remove it from the CSV.

Hi Hugh -- Ha ha! I assume you meant to create a record, export it, and then remove it?
Anyway, sounds like a plan. I would've eventually given that a try. But I thought maybe it was messed up, somehow. Just need a list of the column headings to pass on to the client ? without having to type them up. Thanks.

It's probably a bug, but not one I'm inclined to go chasing, unless someone is buying me a shot of Jack Daniels or a Starbucks.
