How to: Grid of images

I'm not sure if Fabrik is my best tool for this, but I can't find a gallery component that fits the requirements...

This is for an artist's site.

  • Page to display a grid of image thumbnails (which represent records), 3 across and extending down.
  • There will be three categories of images and I need to display Category 1 name, then its images, Category 2 name, then its images etc.
  • Click image to go to detail view
  • In the detail view you can scroll forward and back through the records.
I'm sure it can all be done in Fabrik, but I'm not exactly sure of the best approach, so I'm keen to get any advice :)

yes, I believe to be able to have navigation.
I have been straggled whether use joomla Article or fabrik.

I ve never make a linkage in the element for navigation yet. I feel like Joomla Article woud be easier for navigation. Fabrik also possible to do it , however it is required some knowledgement I guess. If the fabrik had a introduciton section & it's own editor in the element box, It would be easier...
Have you looked at template ?

I've had a quick look at the screen capture, that will get me pretty close, thanks :)
I've also discovered there is a pagination plugin for forms, so that just about solves it... Fabrik it is!

It is not the navigation which you imaged. ;D
thus let get start from making first table ! if you have knowledge (url css javascript php), You can accomplish many thing with Fabrik.

It was like this :
_____________________________
[start][pre] 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 [next][end]
-----------------------------------------------
This is a page navigation.

I think you need thecustom link for link to the detail display, look at http://fabrikar.com/forums/index.php?wiki/elements/

Custom link - If "link to details" is 'yes' then the url given here overwrites the standard link to the details url. An example url is:
http://www.mydomain.com/mypage.php?pagevar={myprefix_mynewlist___myfield}
If the field is not a primary key (id field type), the url should instead be:
http://www.mydomain.com/mypage.php?pagevar={myprefix_mynewlist___myfield_raw}

jr, I am gonna leave for a while, So If it is all of your demand, joomla article will make to satisfy for them, And if it is the complex thing which like a sensitive handling data , Fabrik will be needed and be BEST!:)

We are in need of some funding.
More details.

Thank you.
