What about replacing the inline edit plugin by a normal form opening as popup?

You could copy your list, disable all unneeded elements, use this reduced form via custom element link or custom edit link...

This can be solved with EmailProtector, but EmailProtector give another bug with another newsletter extension on this website, so I have stop it.
