plugin update_col withe cascading dropdown

Hello

I have a problem with the update_col plugin on a list. I want to update a databasejoin element and a cascadingdropdown element (which depends on the databasejoin element). I chose "Allow user selection" with these two elements. The plugin works well for the databasejoin element but not for the cascading dropdown element that displays no value even when a value is selected in the databasejoin.
How to do it because I really need it?

That would require some considerable effort which is outside the scope of Community support. I'm not even 100% sure it's do-able, although we piggy-back on the Advanced Search code, so technically it's possible.
