Request - Special characters in CSV import

Hi there,

it seems that there is a well explained procedure to import text with special characters: http://fabrikar.com/forums/index.php?threads/csv-import-of-text-with-special-characters.10566/ - and it seems to work.

However, that would be great if Fabrik could import special character like '?' without such quite complicated (for a basic user) procedures with a HEX editor. After all, Fabrik has quite international audience.

Just a kind request for a future version.

Cheers,

It's one of those things which is really hard to do, and we've had very few requests for it. And we have to focus on features which the most people need, and/or which don't have workarounds.

So it's one of those things we'll get round to "one of these days, when we have time".

I think there should not be a problem to import as long as you have a regular UTF8 encoded CSV file.
The thread you mentioned is from 2009.
Where is your nonUTF8 file coming from?

Just to be clear, I meant it would be problematic to support anything other than UTF-8, which afaik we support correctly, and does allow for accented characters.

We are in need of some funding.
More details.

Thank you.
