How do I jump right to a detail view from an auto complete dbjoin?

Turn on "Link to Details" in your element's List View Settings

I do not believe that applies to an auto complete DB join element.. however, I did turn on the dbjoin list view to link to details.. with no effect.
This is a dbjoin autocomplete in a search form.. and if they find what they are looking for with the autocomplete. there is no need to keep going through the form, so it should take them directly to that detail view..

So you want a link in your search form? I think the only way to accomplish that would be to use a separate Calc element to dynamically create a link whenever a selection is made in your dbjoin.

no, not a link in my search form. as I said. when you click an item in the autocomplete, to go to the detail view for that item.. instead of jsut populating the field with the value.
I tried an onchange JS with the document.myForm.submit() however, it acts very strange and does not do what is expected.. only json output.. its strange.
If I needed to change the autocomplete.js to accomodate.. how could we set an option, to use as a jump menu instead of a normal input..?
