making a searchable table

how do i create a table that its contents could be searched for i.e i have a list of names on my table, how do i search for a particular name cos the table has over 100 rows

what i need exactly is a table that it's table headings wen clicked will give a drop down list of the entries in it's column, a particular name could also be searched for when the table heading is clicked on...tnx
